Hey Family. So, as you can see, I was going to start up my First and Fourteenth Blog again, and my initial post was going to sound way different than this one. So, we're intentionally pausing our originally scheduled programming to discuss something far more important.

I have had many family members and friends impacted by Southern California wildfires. Even though today is the 15th, and not the 14th, it's a very special 15th to me. I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and one of our main tenets is to be of "Service to All Mankind." Today, January 15th, is our Founders' Day, highlighting our 117 years of service. We have served in a plethora of arenas, but one of the main ones is giving to communities that need support.

I would like to return to the blog with this first post to highlight families who have lost their homes. The homes in Altadena are so beautiful and rich, full of tradition, community, love, and truly supporting one another. As an interior designer, I know how much a well-lived and inspiring home can do for a person's environment, well-being, children's development, and overall peace. Many of these families have been in Altadena for years, raising generation after generation. There are stories, memories, lineages, culture, and so much love in that city.
